Synopsis

The chapter focuses on a bustling slave market in Pavia, where a particularly valuable auction is set to occur, involving the daughter of a fallen noble. Dantalion, disguised, observes the auction dynamics and learns that a Count Roselle intends to buy the girl, while also hearing that a powerful trust exists among Pavia's merchants. Dantalion also attends a party for slave traders while being warned about a midnight deadline, after which his true form might be revealed. Finally, he is guided toward the city to begin his plan.
