Synopsis

The chapter opens with Dantalian confronting someone who clicked their tongue, which was perceived as disrespect towards Lala. This action causes Lapis Lazuli's favorability towards Dantalian to decrease. Later, it is revealed through dialogue that Dantalian is deeply drawn to Lala, not for superficial reasons, but due to her history of abuse and enslavement. Dantalian also rebuffs assumptions about wanting a noble sex slave, emphasizing his work ethic over indulgence. The chapter ends with preparations for the slave market trip and a continuing exploration of the characters' motivations.
