Synopsis

This chapter establishes the concept of "Advanced Divine Power," a phenomenon arising from the clergy's desperation during a past disaster, where they could convert divine power into miracles more efficiently. We see a mysterious man using this power to heal a sick child and her mother, while also giving advice against materialistic aid. The saintess, Dollore, encounters this man, and begins to have feelings for him. She later discovers that she must purify a well to stop a disease outbreak, while others arrive with donations but act selfishly, revealing their lack of true empathy.
