Synopsis

The chapter begins with a group seemingly affiliated with a demonic cult saving the former emperor, who was being held captive. The Emperor recalls his inept rule, his manipulation by an eunuch, and his desire to abdicate, ultimately realizing his true purpose isn't the throne but protecting his people. He encounters soldiers sent to kill him and declares his intent to fight for his people, asking for a message to be sent to his empress before likely facing his death.
