Synopsis

The chapter opens with the protagonist's side realizing they are being pushed back despite their soldiers' valiant efforts. They initially consider the enemy's initial actions as bait, but realize the enemy's true aim was never full annihilation but rather to torment them. Faced with overwhelming odds, the protagonist decides to mobilize their few remaining mages, only to realize that the enemy has deployed witches, signaling their true advantage. Ultimately they make a strategic surrender to save their people despite the humiliating terms.
