Synopsis

Following the extermination of the slave traders, Laura grapples with her emotions and her new life with Dantalian, initially experiencing decreased favorability toward him due to his ruthless actions, but ultimately pledging her loyalty. A man named Giacomo, who recognizes Dantalian from the past, confronts him, revealing that Dantalian had deceived him in the process of freeing the slaves, ultimately questioning his trustworthiness. The chapter ends with Laura's unwavering commitment to her lord and Giacomo being left in a precarious situation.
