Synopsis

Eclis confesses that his actions were all calculated to gain Penelope's favor, including isolating her from her family, and he reveals a deep, possessive love for her. Penelope, in turn, reveals that she bought Eclis to use him and declares him dead to her after his apparent betrayal of her plans. She finds his obsessive behavior and love terrifying, ultimately seeing him as a dangerous dog who bit the hand that fed him.
