Synopsis

Cale's father unexpectedly tasks him to attend a royal palace event, replacing his brother Bassen, despite his reputation. Cale grapples with this, knowing the event coincides with a terrorist attack in the novel, fearing his own safety while also needing Bassen to stay alive to secure his own future. He plots to use Choi Han to his advantage and begins collecting bread from bakeries, while also hearing the voice of a girl who previously starved to death.
