Synopsis

The chapter begins with the protagonist, Priest Marknak, receiving a silver mercenary plate and a letter of recommendation from a friend before setting off on a journey. During the journey to Kelton, the group is ambushed by giant spiders which leads to a discussion about the value of a necklace called the 'Bloodline Pathfinder,' which can locate bloodlines. The necklace's power convinces a character to seek the protagonist's help in finding their mother, leading to an extended partnership and the promise of further repayment for the protagonist's services. A final interaction at the end of the chapter shows someone trying to hold the priest longer, but is not fully explained.
