Synopsis

The protagonist is led to meet the 'Smiling Lord' who is surprisingly coherent and reveals he's been watching the protagonist's actions through borrowed powers. He states that he wants his daughter to leave the estate with the protagonist, offering full support and dissolving a potential engagement. The Smiling Lord explains that he wants his daughter away from the estate due to her not being suited to inherit, but expects the protagonist to be the one to convince her due to her rebellious nature. He also reveals that he is concealing his sanity.
