Synopsis

The chapter focuses on the vampires' plan to use slaves as expendable fodder in an assault on a lizardmen castle. The vampires discuss how the slaves' suffering and deaths will serve multiple purposes: reducing supplies, creating a path to the castle by piling up their bodies, and acting as a distraction for the main attack. The slaves, aware of their dire situation, struggle with the realization that their gods have abandoned them while hoping the lizardmen might offer refuge.
