Synopsis

The chapter opens with the protagonist, using the alias Mengzi, being confronted about abandoning his business partners. It's revealed that he is a bastard child of the Lord and a target due to succession rumors. A lizardman named Sairan Muel, sent by Chief Lakrak, arrives and explains the dangers, and offers his protection. Despite the protagonist's attempts to appear independent, he ultimately accepts Sairan's help to retrieve silk, acknowledging it might be beneficial.
