Synopsis

The chapter opens with a desperate plea to protect a horse carriage carrying vital funds for Redford's debt, which is then ambushed by robbers from a rival dukedom. Simultaneously, a flashback details the relationship between Baek Joonghyuk and a unique scholar, Yoo Hyun, and the scholar's brutal death and its impact on Baek Joonghyuk. Finally, Count Ronden of Redford expresses his resolve to use the current crisis to change the kingdom's situation despite knowing he will face criticism.
