Synopsis

The chapter opens with the aftermath of Lloyd's actions in Khandara, where he is receiving praise and a unique bonus. He then prepares for a journey to Frontera County. Meanwhile, Samarkand, having fulfilled his promise to meet with the Magentano delegation, surprises them by demanding Lloyd as compensation. The chapter ends with Samarkand's people being surprised by Lloyd's disappearance, as he goes to deal with a sand worm. This reveals his continued dedication to action, despite his attempts to retire, and the complicated situation he is now entangled in due to his accomplishments.
