Synopsis

The chapter opens with an outsider criticizing a centaur tribe's dangerous racing tradition, citing injuries and property damage. He recounts being forced into a race and witnessing a child traumatized by an accident caused by the tradition. His criticisms spark debate within the tribe, where some defend tradition while others, especially parents, express frustration with its consequences. The outsider, after being challenged to a race, uses his wit to set up a modified race, ultimately exposing the harmful nature of their tradition and preparing to give a lecture to the gathered tribe.
