Synopsis

The chapter opens with the Crown Prince questioning a servant about his past cruel actions and the servant's reaction. He then discusses his hazy memory with his closest aide, Gardin, seeking to understand his reputation. The Prince is shown drinking a dangerous decoction, explaining he's experimenting and trying to extend his life. Gardin and other servants worry about his actions, which includes repetitive consumption of the decoction.
