Synopsis

The chapter opens with a discussion of a communication artifact, then shifts to a sparring match where a member of the Dark family easily defeats a noble, causing outrage and threats against the Dark family member. The newly appointed sage, Dean, steps in, revealing himself as the student's mentor and threatening the Imperial family if they harm him. The chapter ends with the student discussing a reward offer and worrying that accepting it would be a death sentence and the mentor asks about an alternative solution to that problem.
