Synopsis

The chapter exposes the Baskerville's intentions to exploit the native tribes through trade, using them as a means to subjugate monsters and expand their territory. Meanwhile, the protagonist returns to his city and learns of a string of missing children. He also discovers his niece, Pomerian, has a surprising talent for black magic, which she inadvertently demonstrates by reviving a dead mouse, leading to concern about how the family's rival, Hugo, will react.
