Synopsis

The chapter introduces a former slave who has been taken in by the Ballak tribe. He is quickly put to work, fixing roofs and then tasked with hunting big game to earn a better standing. The matriarch's daughter, a formidable warrior who is also recognized by the protagonist, takes a special interest in him, making him her slave for hunting and building. Despite this, he demonstrates unexpected skill in construction, defying expectations.
