The protagonist, having cleared up the initial issue with the Red Demon Hand and saving Elder Hwang, is treated as a VIP. However, the culprit's motivations are revealed to be a personal vendetta. Then the protagonist experiences a massive demonic qi surge which he attempts to resolve with a potentially fatal method. After the near-death experience, he finds himself facing a mysterious entity who claims to be a spiritual immortal, concluding with the immediate aftermath of the resolution at the guild and the villain's history.
The protagonist resolves the incident at the merchant guild, learns the culprit's motives, and then has to deal with a sudden surge of demonic qi within his own body by performing a dangerous technique that almost kills him. He also has a bizarre encounter with an otherworldly entity.
