Synopsis

The chapter opens with the protagonist mourning the death of Sir Paul, who they discover was brainwashed with black magic. They learn that a powerful, unknown black magician was involved, along with a corrupt Imperial Knight Captain. The protagonist recalls a special necklace given to them by the empress, which contains a rare anti-magic spell that can absorb black magic. They also realize Ian Phage, another powerful character, is likely aware of the new, strong magician and will now be closely observed.
