Synopsis

The chapter begins with a debate on the repercussions of executing the Tower Master, a powerful magician, with some arguing it would leave the empire vulnerable. However, it's revealed that Ian Phage, an even stronger magician, will take over, mitigating concerns. The chapter shifts to the reason for the Tower Master's execution – his use of forbidden black magic involving human sacrifice and a failed plot against Ian Phage. This leads to a confrontation where it’s shown that the Emperor doesn't trust Ragnar, due to his willingness to use the methods, and reveals that Ragnar feels like he is treated unfairly as the Emperor's son, who was born for political reasons, as opposed to his brother born from love.
