Synopsis

The McLains are consolidating their recent victories, strategizing on how to manage their expanded territory and reorganizing their forces while being cautious of Befros's watchful eyes. They are learning of Befros's control over the region and his manipulation to become Lord of the Southwest. The chapter ends with Befros issuing an invitation to the region's heirs to a meeting, using a seemingly polite invitation as a thinly veiled threat, causing internal conflict within the McLain leadership but ultimately a willingness to attend.
