Synopsis

Prince Callian is recovering from a near-fatal injury, possibly caused by a magical contract gone wrong. The chapter reveals a plot involving Callian and others to exploit the Queen's suspected poisoning attempt to undermine her power and the corrupt Brisen family and establish a Mage Corps. The Prince and his allies believe this drastic measure is necessary. There are hints of a broader scheme involving the Mage Association and a long-prepared plan.
