Synopsis

Lord Ian visits Prince Joseph, who resides in a former place of exile, seeking aid for a drought in Alberen. After initial apprehension and a meeting with Prince Joseph's retinue, Ian finds the prince surprisingly agreeable and even shares a love for raw fish. The chapter also reveals a previous encounter between two of the supporting characters, Sir Charlain and Makterro, with Makterro mentioning that Sir Charlain is leaving and may not return. The chapter ends with a suggestion of preparation for a coming conflict, while hinting at hidden depths behind the 'crazy prince' facade.
