Synopsis

The chapter opens with the protagonist returning late after a trade, revealing they traded someone named Clark for gula seeds. They discover the gula is more valuable than expected. Later, the protagonist discusses an alliance with a shadowy figure who wants to take over the Count Merelof's territory, in return for financial support, while a captured suspect is interrogated about a merchant group attack and a hidden connection to a gambling ring. All the while, a scheme to move the count's funds is being planned.
