Synopsis

The chapter opens with the aftermath of a fire, implying the conspirators have eliminated a witness. The Grand Prince and his men, having escaped the previous attack, are now returning to the capital. The prince reveals to the King that the report about the Jurchen attack was a lie, and the real perpetrators were the individuals who should be rewarded. This leads the King to call for the arrest of the guilty parties and then plans an elaborate ruse by rewarding them, in order to lure them into a trap.
