Synopsis

The chapter opens with a frantic search for someone, then shifts to a group of drunk soldiers and introduces a wounded mercenary, Euksoo, who is being cared for. He explains to his savior, the Grand Prince Jinseong, how he was part of a group fighting Jurchen invaders, but their superiors abandoned them. The remaining soldiers held off the attackers but were then betrayed by their commanding officers who tried to steal their achievement, forcing Euksoo to flee and seek justice in Hanyang. Jinseong plans to take him to the capital to report the treachery.
