Synopsis

The chapter begins with the young leader, Ma Chunso, facing prejudice and being called names due to his mother being a concubine. He endures taunting and an attempted assassination, but is protected by Sangang, who is clearly fond of him. He has to attend a meeting in the Ming Spring Pavilion with other children. The chapter culminates with Ma Chunso's first public appearance, and both he and his protectors show confidence and eagerness.
