Synopsis

A farewell letter reveals the Church's knowledge of events before they happen, indicating a 'real-time information exchange method' and their manipulation of 'divine punishment.' The protagonist recognizes the Church as a greater threat than a previous enemy. He also begins to grapple with his own inner conflict, as a previous self emerges and claims to have been absorbed by the main character. Meanwhile, he's also experimenting with the powers he has obtained from eating a manticore, becoming stronger, and also realizing that he must confront the Church.
