Synopsis

The chapter follows the protagonist's struggle with a resurgence of power, which is referred to as 'VIE', and its impact on their senses and perception. The group organizes a night watch, and during his shift the protagonist encounters another mercenary who challenges his seemingly weak state and displays a brutal 'might makes right' philosophy. This escalates into a fight where the protagonist demonstrates an unexpectedly powerful counter.
