Synopsis

The chapter opens with the protagonist discovering a mine after noticing strangely fearful monsters and traces of an avalanche. Inside, they encounter and make a deal with the monsters, promising peace in exchange for their cooperation later. They also encounter a powerful ancient dwarf, who reveals the past oppression of other races by humans and shows that the humans abandoned the mine due to a great worm. The dwarf, with a shared hatred of humanity, allies with the protagonist and offers technological support.
