Synopsis

The chapter begins with a confrontation between the protagonist and Haureth, a seemingly young but high-ranking demon, who expresses disappointment at the protagonist's appearance but offers a chance to ask questions before conversion into demonic energy. A flashback shows the protagonist learning to safely absorb demonic energy, a skill they no longer require, revealing that they had reached a high level. They now find themselves in the mind's realm of the one they came to borrow the vessel from, who is a very powerful demon, seemingly much stronger than them now, indicating a shift in power dynamics.
