Synopsis

The protagonist is caught in a tense situation, having betrayed a past employer and is now surrounded by powerful demons at a formal gathering called Walpurgis Night. The demons, representing various factions, are eyeing the protagonist and their companion, making them feel like trapped animals. The chapter introduces the event's host, Ivar Lodbrock, an ancient vampire and the owner of a powerful firm, who is implied to be a major player in the unfolding events.
