The chapter opens with Dantalian questioning a company representative, Lala, about her hidden agenda behind lending him money, accusing her of wanting to bankrupt him and turn him into their "lapdog." He then manipulates the situation by claiming a plague will ravage the world and he, being a demon lord, can create a cure, further claiming his "mistress" is the reason for his motivation. Later, the company executives are summoned to an emergency meeting where it's revealed that Dantalian has requested an exorbitant additional loan, causing shock and disbelief amongst the leadership.
Dantalian confronts a company representative about their true motives for lending him money, revealing his plan to leverage his "mistress" and a fabricated plague to secure more funds. The company leadership is later shocked by Dantalian's massive loan request.
