Synopsis

The chapter follows Imperial Guard trainees as they embark on a live mission to eliminate a Corite outpost. The training leadership is given to Luka and Ilay, and the mission is framed as a test of their abilities. While most of the trainees adopt the ruthless mindset expected of them, one trainee hesitates and feels conflicted when faced with a non-combatant, showing a potential deviation from the expected behavior. This moment raises a question of morality versus duty to the Empire.
