Synopsis

The chapter sees the protagonist corner and capture assassins sent by the desperate Kelibos. He extracts information and discovers the assassination attempt was too crude for the great families, suggesting internal conflict within his own family, specifically that his family is aligned with the shadowy Kelibos. He decides to involve the Empire's underground clan and uses the captured assassins to frame a family member, Mairon. Ultimately, this is all in service of his larger goal of preparing to save the world by knowing all of the dark secrets around him, even at the expense of his family.
