The chapter begins with the ascetic dealing with the thugs who ambushed him, learning they are part of a gang from Danjiangkou. The thugs reveal their orders were to capture three ascetics and that they are under the command of Lee Palryong. The ascetic, now covered in blood, decides that the thugs are useless for information and decides he must go and confront Lee Palryong himself, as he was the one who hired the thugs to capture him and the other ascetics.
The ascetic interrogates the thugs who attacked him, revealing their connection to a local gang and a plot to capture ascetics. He then sets out to find their boss.
