Synopsis

Cale is visited by members of the Whale King's bloodline who formally apologize for past actions and express gratitude. They then reveal that they are merpeople and explain that their tribe has become aggressive and significantly stronger due to a plan to control the sea routes. They request Cale's help to enter the Dark Forest, citing their knowledge of his family and prior treatment of their younger brother, and promising payment for his aid.
