Synopsis

Cale arrives at the location of a legendary tree said to sprout where a temple servant obsessed with eating died. This tree, rumored to be flesh-eating, is said to hold the power of an unbreakable shield. Cale observes that the tree is imbued with the grief of the deceased girl and the powers of the starving dead. He learns that the shield will appear if the tree is fed, causing the darkness to fade and light to emerge and so he plots to acquire the shield, despite the potential danger and the local peoples warnings.
