Choi Han, a kind soul from the dark forest, experiences his first act of violence after his village is destroyed, leading him into despair. Meanwhile, Kim Roksu finds himself inhabiting the body of Cale Henituse, a character from the novel he was reading. Recognizing Cale's fate, Roksu tries to alter the timeline to avoid the protagonist, Choi Han, and pursue a life of peace. He plans to avoid the plot points that will lead to his character's demise.
