Synopsis

The chapter opens with the protagonist receiving a blood transfusion from a troll to save his life. He meets a doctor-like figure who identifies his vision problems as cataracts, a condition his holy magic can't cure because it's a congenital condition his body doesn't recognize as an abnormality. They begin collaborating on research in the doctor's lab, exploring the unusual properties of monster blood, particularly orc blood which they discover can mix with other species' blood, offering a potential pathway for treatment. The chapter ends with the pair observing an orc which has been severely injured by a troll.
