Ray, after significantly improving his mana manipulation and medicinal knowledge, seeks to use his abilities to help others. He encounters a noblewoman, Gade von Elicia, who urgently needs a healer for her father's rapidly worsening condition, a large, possibly malignant tumor. Ray agrees to help, but when they arrive at the nobleman's home, they learn he has already passed away. This leaves Ray unable to help.
