Synopsis

This chapter introduces the concept of 'awakening' as a means of power increase, detailing the risks associated with it, and a past catastrophic event involving 'Cracks' and mass awakenings that resulted in severe mental trauma and death. The protagonist, Ja Geukryeong, despite not being part of 'Cracks', proposes this awakening method to the clan leaders, also intending to improve their 'adaptation' stage. He then reveals a hidden training facility connected to 'The Tower of Nightmares,' and later criticizes their complacency, emphasizing a need for true strength through abandoning their current 'world' of adaptation, which is a status-based system they've grown comfortable with, to pursue complete 'awakening'.
