Synopsis

The chapter opens with the arrival of a 'Mega Dead' entity in Gorgon, a catastrophe that attracts other undead, described as the reason for fortresses' high walls. The Fortress Master is presented with a seemingly impossible choice designed to make him look incompetent. Instead, he defies expectations, declaring his plan to 'split the sea', saving the people. Despite the success, a massive horde of dead is approaching, forcing the fortress to be locked down and its residents to evacuate north.
