Synopsis

The chapter begins with the protagonist struggling against an opponent who uses a strange and disruptive strategy, attacking early despite the established 'etiquette'. The protagonist realizes his opponent breaks all known rules and challenges him. He's goaded into a 'battle of wits' using a strategy game called 'Formation World' which is based on a real-time strategy game the protagonist recognizes from Earth, prompting him to accept the challenge, despite his opponent's arrogance and choice of race. The protagonist thinks he's at an advantage due to his vast experience with the game.
