Synopsis

The chapter opens with Martis and other gods fighting to preserve their hard-won 'today,' recognizing its value even though the past can't be changed. They are facing a powerful sanctuary deployed by Artema, and one of their allies considers using a risky fate-altering ability. Simultaneously, we are introduced to 'Crack,' who is revealed to be experimenting on children to further understand 'awakening,' revealing a cruel and exploitative side plot that contrasts sharply with the gods' struggle.
