Synopsis

The chapter begins with the aftermath of the protagonist's house destruction, with him dealing with the reporters' questions. He learns that Martin Brand, the Ares Guildmaster, ordered his assassination and is hiding in a secret bunker. The protagonist confronts Brand, only to discover he's been lured into a trap that nullifies mana, revealing Brand is a climber and has been observing him, and the trap, all along.
