Synopsis

The chapter opens with servants discussing the heavy atmosphere in the estate and the unhappiness of the family members. It's revealed that Karina has put everyone to sleep and is planning to leave. She reflects on her family dynamics, realizing her role as the peacemaker was achieved through her own sacrifice. She states she wants to live for herself and create something of her own, leaving behind a letter to sever ties with her family. Later, the estate staff discover the letter and are confused by the situation since everyone was asleep.
