Synopsis

The protagonist arrives in a village plagued by monthly mutant appearances from the Night Fog Region, marked by strange taboos and a recent, supposedly fabricated, story about the moon crying tears. A local kid hints at the taboos being made up by the mayor. When the protagonist, who is part of a monster-hunting group called Carpe Diem, is assessing the area, he is suddenly attacked by a mutant that displays an unusual assimilation power, shocking him as this wasn't a previously known ability.
